Delhi University introduces Facebook Writing 101
I read about this from NDTV and The Huffington Post:India. As this information is still in the works, both articles were rather short and just gave the most general information on the topic. There were a few differences nevertheless.
I found NDTV's article to be a little more eye-catching and interesting. The headline itself "Delhi University Plans to Teach Literature Students Facebook Writing" caught my eye initially. I wondered what it meant and if it would be a good idea to teach students to write so casually. Upon further reading, they explained and I agreed that it would be a good idea.
NDTV's article became a bit confusing though, when they started talking about how the news of the Facebook writing class came a day after students heard of Chentan Bhagat's book being used in a different class and included tweets from students. I thought that should have been saved for another story.
The Huffington Post's article on the other hand, talked specifically about the Facebook class the entire time. They also gave more insight about how this class is still in the works. They said "There is no particular plan on how to conduct the course, and further instructions will be given once initial feedback has been received."
Although this class is still in its beginning phases, it appears to be an interesting idea and a great way to utilize social media to enhance learning.
