Bill Clinton: president turned fiction writer

Mystery writer James Patterson is teaming up with Bill Clinton to write a novel entitled "The President is Missing". The book is said to come out in June of 2018 and is being jointly published by Alfred A. Knopf and Little, Brown and Company.

The New York Times wrote an article about the new book explaining how James Patterson isn't new to co-writing books but this is his most exciting one ever. They included a quote of him saying "Working with President Clinton has been the highlight of my career, and having access to his firsthand experience has uniquely informed the writing of this novel."

The New York Times also included information for those of us who are avid book readers and might have been concerned about Clinton's writing abilities. They wrote "Mr. Clinton said he had long been a fan of Mr. Patterson's novels. "Working on a book about a sitting president- drawing on what I know about the job, life in the White House and the way Washington works- has been a lot of fun." They also included a quote from a political columnist, Joe Klein who said "Clinton was always protean and a devoted mystery reader."

While the NYT's article was longer, NPR wrote an article that gave short facts and included many quotes from both Clinton and Patterson. While most of the quotes were the same, NPR included a tweet from Patterson that read "Couldn't be more excited to announce my new thriller with @billclinton: THE PRESIDENT IS MISSING. Preorder now at your favorite bookseller." I think that by adding tweets in articles, it appeals more to younger, more relaxed audiences. NPR also kept their facts short which can appeal to people who don't have a lot of time to read but are still interested.

There are no facts about the plot released yet, but the book should be a mystery that everyone should read next year.
